Postgraduate Psychosocial Training for Medical Doctors
The Project
... aims to develop and establish a curriculum for postgraduate medical training of physicioans on psychosocial competence embedded in an European - Asian network in the field of Psychosomatic Medicine. This training shall become a regular part of the medical education in three Asian countries: China, Vietnam and Laos.
Within 3 years the curriculum will be developed, and as a first step postgraduate medical doctors from different fields are trained to apply it as trainers. In the second year of the project postgraduate medical doctors attend a one year lasting psychosomatic training course, which is conducted conjointly by European and Asian teachers. In the third step the Asian partners conduct the training on their own.
Psychosomatic Medicine

Psychotherpeutic techniques are used in the doctor - patient relationships in all medicals fields.Theory relies on scientific methods of clinical psychology, psychotherapeutic medicine and psychiatry with an integration of individual psychotherapy, family therapy and biomedicine. ...is used as psychosocial competence in primary medical care for enhancing the doctor-patient relationship by communication skills and the cooperation with psychosomatic and psychiatric specialists. The training should be a mandatory part of medical specialisation.
Aims
The participants learn in this training to integrate psychosomatic coherences in their daily work with different methods. The aim is to detect patients' psycho-social stresses and strains early, to accompany the patients and to combat and to engineer further therapeutic steps if required. The main focus lays both on the knowledge of a professionel doctor-patient-relationship and on communicative competences.
The network and cooperation in the field of Psychosomatic Medicine between Europe, China and Southeastasia is the first step to sustain psychosocial competence in the postgraduate medical training of particular groups of medical doctors
